I was on assignment for National Geographic in Madagascar in April 2025, documenting the behind-the-scenes of the Above and Below project. Led by National Geographic photographer Babak Tafreshi and NASA astronaut Don Pettit aboard the International Space Station, the project aimed to capture the same locations from two perspectives—one from the ground and one from space.
Madagascar was the final chapter of the project before Don’s return to Earth, and I had the opportunity to contribute as both a photographer and videographer. Here are some of my images from the trip, and you can read the full story on National Geographic.
